Boombox App
Case Study | 2017
Boombox is a music streaming app where kids and pre-teens can listen and learn about music from different decades with parental guidance. The app will expose children to all ranges of music culture, as they are just starting to develop their own tastes and listening habits. This is a UI project I completed at General Assembly. Its purpose was to show the potential of an app that allows parents to bond with children through sharing their personal music preferences while teaching them the historical context of past genres.

Objectives
Boombox focuses on family engagement. By sharing their personal favorites, parents can also engage more with their children through music, culture, and nostalgia. This app only features past decades' hits rather than the latest releases, exposing young listeners to more genres, and expanding their musical and cultural knowledge.

Strategy

Unlike other music apps, Boombox is dedicated to the next generation of listeners. Therefore, it has two setups process to ensure appropriate content for each age group.
Parents will first need to set up their kid's account, age restriction, and music genres.
Once the kid's account is set up, the parents can create and share the playlists while monitoring the young listeners to explore other music within their age group.
